Privacy
Privacy policy for the igiRadio app. Last updated: October 29, 2026.
In short
igiRadio does not collect personal data and has no accounts, ads or analytics. The app mostly talks to your radio, on your home network.
What the app uses and why
- Local network: to find the radio (mDNS) and control it.
- Bluetooth: only during first setup, to find the radio and give it your Wi-Fi network. The Wi-Fi password goes only to the radio.
- Camera: only if you choose to scan a setup QR code. Images are not saved or sent anywhere.
- Settings: the radio's address and your preferences stay on your device.
External services
- GitHub: when you check for updates, the app reads the latest public firmware release from github.com.
- Apple iTunes Search: to show artwork, the app may send Apple the title of the song or the name of the station that is playing.
- Web radio: the stations you listen to are served by their own servers, which may log connections under their own policies.
None of these services receive data from the app that identifies you.
